Terms of sale
StrataSim Shop is operated by StrataSim Designs, LLC ("we", "us"). These terms cover buying from the shop.
What you are buying
Products here are digital downloads made by independent developers ("vendors"). We are the seller of record: your contract of sale is with us, we take your payment, and we handle tax. The developer named on a listing made the product and provides its technical support.
Your licence
Buying a product grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it, on the simulators the listing declares. Some products additionally issue a licence key from the developer, and that developer's own terms apply to the software itself.
You may not redistribute, resell or share the files or any licence key you receive.
Additional copies and gifts
You can buy additional copies of a product you already own. Each paid copy is a separate licence. Mark gift copies in your cart, then personalize and send them from your account after payment. Gift receipts leave out the price and your billing details.
A gift becomes the recipient's licence when they accept it into a verified StrataSim account. Emailed gifts require the recipient's email address; a shared gift link can be claimed once by whoever holds it, so share it privately. Once claimed, the copy belongs to that account and cannot be reassigned. The developer's software licence still applies.
Your library
Purchases stay in your account. When a developer publishes an update to something you own, you get it at no extra cost, for as long as that product remains available here. If a developer withdraws a product, your existing download and key continue to work.
Delivery
Delivery is immediate and electronic. Download links and licence keys are available in your library as soon as payment completes.
Accounts
Sign-in uses your password and a verification step, or a connected sign-in provider. Keep your email and sign-in details secure. Tell us if you lose access to your account.
Price and tax
Prices are set in US dollars. We show them, and charge them, in the currency of the country you are buying from, converted at that day's exchange rate plus a small margin that covers the cost of the conversion. The country is detected from your connection, and you can change it at the top of any page; at checkout, your billing address decides it.
Where prices in your country include tax (the UK, the EU and most countries outside North America), the prices shown include it. In the US and Canada, tax is added at checkout. Either way, tax is calculated from your billing address and shown before you pay, and you pay the total shown at checkout. If your card is in a different currency, your bank may add its own conversion fee.
Liability
We provide the shop and the delivery. We do not warrant that any product is fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for a developer's software beyond the refund terms. Nothing here limits rights you have under your local consumer law.
Changes
We may change these terms. The version in force is the one published when you ordered.
