StrataWx for X-Plane 12 writes real-world weather into the sim as a true 13-layer wind column, per-layer turbulence and real cloud decks.
Written per layer, not relayed as one preset
X-Plane 12 exposes the atmosphere as writable data, so this build writes each layer into the sim rather than expressing the whole column as one uniform preset. That is why it is a separate build from StrataWx for MSFS, and why it costs more: it does more.
The same engine behind it
It is built from the shipping StrataWx app rather than written from scratch: the same aggregation of real-world observations and global model data, the same atmosphere built from them, and the same desktop app in the screenshots. Live, historical and sandbox modes come across with it.
Worth knowing before you buy
The weather is written around your aircraft and carried with you, not varied across the map. Onboard weather radar cannot paint injected cells. It is a Windows x64 app, so it is not for X-Plane on macOS or Linux. And it licenses X-Plane 12 only, not the MSFS builds.
